We always appreciate the opportunity to give back to our local community, and are excited to share an electrical contracting project we’re doing for a very worthy organization! We are honored to help Room to Grow, an expansion effort for Grace’s Table in Grand Rapids.
Grace’s Table is a community where girls are welcomed as they are, invited to connect with others, and become part of a family. In a time of uncertainty and turmoil, Grace’s Table is a resting place, an anchor, and a firm foundation for teen mothers and their children, from mothers-to-be, to newborns and toddlers.
“When day-to-day living is filled with insecurity and doubt, our girls know they can rely on our volunteers for comfort, support, knowledge, and assurance.”
Grace’s Table’s 1923 basement is under construction to provide additional space to meet our current demand, and provide Room to Grow.
This basement represents more education for both children and moms. This is the next phase of Grace’s Table.
Room to Grow paves the way (literally) for
- Specialized training for moms
- Spiritually intimate conversations on Friday nights
- Impactful children’s ministry
- Space to minister to more moms … and kids!
Room to Grow is necessary for bridging the gap between strong relationships, life skills and faith building courses.
CDI is providing the electrical work to Grace’s Table for Room to Grow. Because of the non-profit’s extremely limited budget, we are providing labor and wiring materials at cost, and The Lighting Corner is donating light fixtures for the project. The most challenging part of the project is working in the basement of a circa 1920’s house to bring the electrical system up to today’s standards.
We were introduced to Grace’s Table by Bruce Heys of Bruce Heys Builders, who is giving generously to the organization, along with several other construction-related firms, church ministries and individuals.
If you’re inspired to support Grace’s Table in their Room to Grow project, it would be much appreciated! You can give online or contact founder Lisa E. Anderson. Grace’s Table is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your gift is tax deductible as allowed by law.
